How fortunate I was to come across Filipa Afonso! I’d been feeling overwhelmed at the prospect of planning a week-long birthday party for my husband in his favorite place, Portugal. Figuring out a schedule, coordinating 20 friends’ availability and interests, making reservations, identifying activities — all of it seemed almost impossible to accomplish from the US. Yet I’d already committed myself to what I called my “crazy project, ” so in desperation, I threw myself into a late-night online search for someone who could help, and somehow — call it fate — I stumbled upon Filipa. From the moment I contacted her, I knew she was exactly the partner I needed. Suddenly, what had seemed like an impossible task became a creative collaboration. We passed ideas back and forth via zoom and email and they’d show up in my inbox the next day as concrete plans, complete with reservation-confirmations, fillable spreadsheets and concise, accurate notes. Her attention to detail, organizational skill, knowledge and responsiveness were all extraordinary, but most of all, it was her warmth, enthusiasm and clear personal investment in creating a once-in-a-lifetime experience that truly made the event a success. I can’t recommend her highly enough.
